We know you are trying to squeeze the most out of the last few days of summer break, but please read this letter carefully as it contains important back to school information. The links provided here will give you access to further details. 


As always, a copy of this letter will be made available on the District website for future reference.

Returning Student Registration

Thank you to the families who have already completed Returning Student Registration for this year. We highly encourage you to complete this process using FinalForms prior to Registration Day. Instructions for filling out your child’s online registration are in previous communications from the District and are available on the District website.



Registration Day

Registration Day to give families the opportunity to ensure their child’s information is up to date, deliver school supplies, pay fees, have school photos taken and meet with school representatives. Please plan to attend.

  • Wednesday, August 9 - 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.    AWHS, AW Junior High,  FTMS

  • Thursday, August 10 - Noon - 7:00 p.m.        Monclova, Waterville, Whitehouse



Emergency Communications Test: Monday, August 14 at Noon

We will complete our annual test of the InstantConnect school communication system at Noon August 14. This is the system that we use to send school closing and delay information, emergency notifications and regular email communications. You should receive a phone call, text message and email from Anthony Wayne Local Schools. Instructions for how to report issues will be available on the District website.



NEW! Anthony Wayne Local Schools App

The District has relaunched its smartphone app to give our families and community members an easy way to stay up-to-date with important school information. We encourage you to download it for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.



Back to School Webpage

Open house dates, school supply lists, school picture order forms and other important information is available on the District’s Back to School webpage. Click here to prepare for the 2023-24 school year.



PowerSchool Parent Portal is Open

You can now login to your child’s PowerSchool account through the Parent Portal. This video provides more information about accessing the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please know that there may be some schedule changes as we prepare for the new school year. Questions can be directed to the school offices.



Food Services Department Information

Food Services representatives will be available on Registration Day to answer questions and assist with depositing funds to your cafeteria account. Please bring cash or check, as credit card payments cannot be accepted on Registration Day. Click here for Food Services information for the 2023-24 School Year, including meal prices, menu links and Free and Reduced-price Meal Application details.



Transportation Information

Your child’s bus route information is expected to be available in the PowerSchool Parent Portal at the end of the day on Monday, August 7. Prior to this date, information from the previous school year may be visible. Please be patient as we work to build routes based on current bus driver shortagesIf you or someone you know is interested in being a bus driver, please apply today.



Health Services Information

Information about required immunizations, managing allergies and medication administration during the school day is available on the Health Services page of the website. You may also refer to the Nurse’s Handbook for more information about your child’s health at school.



Required Health Curriculum Changes Notice

The Ohio Department of Education is requiring updates to the health curriculum for students in grades K-12. Click here for a letter detailing these changes. You may direct any questions to your building principal.
