The Anthony Wayne High School Chapter of the National Honor Society is a service organization comprised of students who strongly demonstrate all four qualities promoted by NHS: Service, Leadership, Scholarship and Character. Members are selected for induction by the faculty of the high school based on various criteria. All Juniors and Seniors who have a 3.800 cumulative GPA will receive an invitation in the Fall inviting them to submit documentation to be considered for acceptance. If accepted, students will be required to complete 25 hours of service projects either in conjunction with NHS or on their own. NHS does various projects throughout the year such as tutoring at all of the AW buildings, trick-or-treating for canned goods, sponsoring local Christmas families, and collecting children's books for inner-city elementary schools. See the link for more complete information about the acceptance process into NHS.
