Seven Anthony Wayne High School Alumni will be inducted to the Anthony Wayne Alumni Association Hall of Fame September 8 during a special luncheon at the school. The inductees, representing graduates from the 1950s - 1980s, have made significant contributions in their communities and/or professions. They include: Phillip Boehm (1955), Bob Welch (1969), Carol Koontz Gottschalk O'Shea (1967), Melissa Meeker Bergfeld (1976), Julie Holloway (1979), Karla Witte (1981), and Jane Golding Robertson (1985).
The 2007 Anthony Wayne Alumni Association Hall of Fame Induction Luncheon will be held Saturday, September 8 at 12:00 Noon in the Anthony Wayne High School Cafeteria (5967 Finzel Road, Whitehouse). The luncheon will be $6.00 per person. A limited number of walk in seats will be available. Please contact AW Alumni Association Hall of Fame Co-Chair Bob Slykhuis at 419-349-4463 by August 31 to reserve a seat. This event is open to the public and all are invited.
The Anthony Wayne Alumni Association Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding graduates, faculty, and community members who have made significant contributions to the school, their professions, or their communities. There are 92 members of the Hall of Fame, including the Class of 2007. Nomination forms are available at:

To be eligible for nomination, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
* Alumni must have graduated a minimum of 10 years ago
* Staff members must have served a minimum of 10 years and be retired at least five (5) years
* Honorary nominees must have made significant voluntary contributions to the betterment of Anthony Wayne Schools.
The Anthony Wayne Alumni Association was founded in 1997. It has since been chartered by the state of Ohio as a non-profit corporation for the exclusive purposes of:
* Fostering communications with Anthony Wayne graduates
* Supporting the Anthony Wayne Education Foundation and scholarship program
* Sponsoring and supporting alumni events and reunions. |
