Showcase of Bands

Six Ohio Bands to Perform

 

The Anthony Wayne Marching Generals will host their annual Showcase of Bands program Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 7:00 pm in the Schaller Memorial Football Stadium at Anthony Wayne High School (5967 Finzel Road, Whitehouse). The guest conductor will be Jack M. Taylor, Director of Bands at University of Findlay. Mr. Taylor received a Master’s in Music Performance from Yale University, has conducted groups internationally, is a composer/arranger, and is a free lance jazz saxophonist throughout the Midwest.
The Anthony Wayne Showcase of Bands will include performances by six bands, and will feature the University of Findlay Marching Oiler Brass, as well as the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals and Anthony Junior High School Band. All bands will join together for a finale. Tickets will be available at the gate and are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Children under age five are free.

Anthony Wayne High School Marching Generals are directed by AWHS Band Director Zakary D. Wilkins and Assistant Director, AWJHS Band Director Charles Greggerson. Majorette Advisor is Deb Myers. The Anthony Wayne Marching Generals are a distinctive show-band, with a high stepping style developed in 1966 by former AWHS Band Director Robert Shoemaker.
