Anthony Wayne-Penta FCCLA Chapter has strong showing at State Conference

The Anthony Wayne-Penta Chapter of FCCLA earned the Outstanding Chapter Award and several students brought home individual and team awards from the State Leadership Conference held in held in Columbus, Ohio on April 25-26, 2024.

Qualifying for the national level of competition and traveling to the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Seattle, Washington are:

Grace Emahiser: First Place, Chapter Service Project Portfolio, Level 3
Fiona Freeman: First Place, Teach & Train, Level 3
Summer Link: First Place, Recycle & Redesign, Level 3
Ashlynn Jacobs: National Qualifier Online Project, Digital Stories for Change
Addison Metzger: First Place, Fashion Design, Level 3 
Makenna Rienhart: First Place, Event Management, Level 3
Skylar Smelley: 2nd Place & National Qualifier, Career Investigation, Level 2
Aradhya Muthumula & Grant Hubley, National Qualifier Online Project, FCCLA Chapter Website Design

Family, Career and Community Leaders of American is a career and technical education organization for students enrolled in family and consumer sciences programs that challenges students to find solutions to important personal, work and societal issues. The national organization prepares students for life beyond graduation by focusing on character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge and career preparation.

The Anthony Wayne Chapter of FCCLA is a satellite program of Penta Career Center under the leadership of Mrs. Amanda Valdez, Advisor and AWHS Family Consumer Sciences Teacher.
